They can address their own problem in the community through working together. They can build solidarity and unity among their members. Improve the better making a decision together in order to peacefully resolve any conflict and avert those conflicts. Exert pressure over governor or decision maker related to the services delivery. Make a difference of guideline or law affected to community.
To achieve those expectations, the community or core group needs to work together closely and always maintain monitoring process so that they establish relationship with the potential and existed alliances then increase support from them.
Challenge for rural people in collecting resources to address issues:
-People may be at high risk of livelihood, economy and physique while they claim their rights.
-It might be hard to lobby enough people to participate with us.
-It may take longer to strengthen people and resources to challenge against problem.
-People have different ideas and level of determination enable toward disharmony.
-Increasingly longer to overcome the government’s bureaucracy system.
To raise our demand, problem and community’s challenges you have to create the core group/focal points. The members have dedication and facilitation to share, analyze and action together. When you start to create the core group at first time, your people may not interest in the requirement of resettlement of problem. Sometime they do not feel that those are the problem in locality. Lobbying the people to participate with us is kind of tough affair but many problems were identified by as many of you. So you need many people to join and resolve those problems.
First, you need to create a small core group of people to work. This group is responsible to collect data and identify the problem and design a long term strategy. It is important to look for an effective leader and member in order to resolve problem. Leader may originates from other sources and have official position in community. Leader is fascinated from the people with his/her deep sympathy and motivation. He or she is aware of problem clearly and create dynamics to educate and gather local people.
A good leader is one who has good speaking skill, motivate others with a respect, dare to take risk, transfer crucial works to follower, assist to solve problem, push to have problem solving with initiatives, information sharing, accountability for his/her performance, communicate with and inspire members, he/she has own principle and conscience, he who believe that power shall be used very well if shared.
